Principal's Message

Welcome Letter – 2025-2026 School Year
Dear Sullivan Middle School and Bonsall High School Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! My name is Angela James, and I
am honored to begin this year as the principal of both Sullivan Middle
School and Bonsall High School. As I step into this expanded role, I want to
share how deeply excited and committed I am to serving our students,
staff, and families across both campuses.
This year marks my fifth year as the principal of Sullivan Middle School,
and I am proud of the strong, student-centered foundation we’ve built
together. As a longtime educator with over 25 years of experience, I bring with me a deep
understanding of adolescent development, a passion for instructional leadership, and a firm
belief in the power of relationships to transform school communities.
As a community member and a mother of two children who attended Bonsall Unified schools, I
care deeply about the success of every student in our district. I believe that high expectations, a
nurturing environment, and a unified school culture are key to helping all students thrive. That
belief will continue to guide my leadership as I work to support both the middle and high school
campuses in providing a safe, inclusive, and academically rich experience.
At both Sullivan Middle School and Bonsall High School, we will continue to focus on the whole
child, supporting academic growth, social-emotional development, and positive behavior. Our
commitment to rigorous instruction and meaningful enrichment opportunities remains steadfast,
and we are proud to continue that work. I am excited to collaborate with our staff and students
to build on the existing strengths of our campuses while looking ahead to opportunities that will
elevate teaching and learning. Together, we will continue to foster a school culture rooted in high
expectations, equity, and student voice.
I wholeheartedly believe that great schools are built through collaboration, with exceptional
teachers and staff, engaged students, and supportive families. I look forward to continuing to
work closely with Sullivan Assistant Principal, Tiffany Suetos, Bonsall High School Assistant
Principal, Heather Hoden, and school staff to ensure a seamless and successful school year for
all.
Please know that my door is always open. I encourage you to stay involved, share your ideas,
and help shape the future of our schools. Let’s make this a year full of growth, joy, and
possibilities.
Warm regards,
Angela James
